Dutch oven cook off

Hey come out to the fair Saturday and check out the Dutch oven cook off. some really good cooks will be competing against each other. And one really good part of it is after the judging you will get to sample the food...and we are not talking beanie weenies here either. Cakes, pies, yeast bread and stuffed pork loins are just some of the things you will see....come on out

I've never been to a Dutch Oven cook-off..........What is some of the best food to try in your opinion?

Never had much come out of a Dutch oven that was not good , but homemade bread is really good out of them.. Tomorrow I am cooking a Cheese Pepperoni Bread Ring, Fire Glazed Pork Loin with Calypso Rice, and my verison of a Turtle Cheesescake. There will be some of the best cooks around..In years past the Elk Festival in Jasper has been the unofficial State Championship and there are 4 teams that will be cooking here that has won there before.

The Dutch Oven Cook-off sounds like a great event. Our chamber does a good job of trying to get neat things in our county. The barbeque cook-off in Hermitage was really fun. The food was even better.
